Resist & Tye Dying Workshop

Resist Dye is the one technique that for me is fun as you don't need to think about what you are doing as it is a very organic process. Often just throwing things together. Different tools you can use is wax, flour and wateror just scrunch technique with slaping dye on. Then there is the more fussy techniques like sibori/ tye dye.

Dying with Materials you have found in your Backyard.

Talk to your neighbours if they have a garden or there maybe a field of flowers near. You gather what you have in their gardens to used as a dye. Start collecting onion peels, dry only. Marigold petals dried. red dirt. dried lavender, gum leaves of different. Label everything, what it is and where it came from. We can dye wool to knit with if they are knitters and they can hold the next workshop to knit up the wool. As I'm not a Kintter. Or we can use long silk or cotton scarf can be dyed with sibori and other resist techniques. Then we can have another meeting/ workshop to print on top of this, as the more you layer it has more beauty.
